Honoring a Special Man!

Dave´s biggest priorities were his family and his community. That is why this race is such a wonderful memorial to his work. The Dash for Dave will help two organizations that exist to make our world better and were very important to Dave.

Clinical Outcomes Group (COGI) was founded by Dave to improve the health and wellness of our community. COGI has created the David A Zanis Fatherhood Fund. This fund was started in his memory and is designed to help Schuylkill County fathers and children in many ways.

Dave was the President elect of Pottsville Rotary Club upon his death in April 2011, so it is a great tribute to help a service organization that does so much good for the community locally and around the world.

COGI would like to extend their gratitude to the organizers and participants of this event. It is a fitting tribute to a wonderful man! It is inspiring to know that teenagers came up with the idea and organized such a wonderful event. There is great power and promise in the teens of Schuylkill County - and these community-minded students are already demonstrating that they care about this community as much as Dave did!

The Dash for Dave is a one-mile fun run in memory of Dr. David Zanis. It will take place on Saturday, March 24th, 2012. The first run will be for runners under the age of 18 and the next run will be for runners 18 or older. The registration for each runner is $18.00. The money raised will be donated to Clinical Outcomes Group Fatherhood Fund and Pottsville Rotary Club (both of which Dr. Zanis supported). Please spread the word and help support a good cause!

Registration begins at 10:00AM and the race begins at 11:00AM. The race begins at 18th & West Market Street in Pottsville and goes down Market Street (downhill) to Garfield Square.

This race is being organized by PAHS Teens Against Tobacco and Key Club and the Pottsville Recreation Commission.
